Pastor Matt Lucas

Senior Pastor

Matt Lucas has been pastor of Woodland Lakes Community Church since May of 2016. Matt grew up in Garden City, KS where he attended the Church of the Nazarene with his family. He graduated from Garden City High School in 1993, from MidAmerica Nazarene University in 1996, and earned a Masters Degree from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2000. He was ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2000. Prior to coming to WLCC, Matt pastored churches in Smith Center KS, Leavenworth County KS, and Oakes ND.

Pastor Matt was called to preach as a teenager and has found great joy in the call ever since. His passion is to preach the life changing truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ. In addition to his ministry work, Matt enjoys outdoor activities like hunting, fishing, and an occasional game of golf. When not outside he can usually be found hanging out with his family, reading a book about American history, or cheering on the Kansas Jayhawks. Matt is an avid and lifelong Kansas City Royals fan. Pastor Matt and his wife Kristi have two children; Erica, husband Chris, and daughter Harper of Smith Center KS, and Eli.

Amer Khokhar

Youth Pastor

Amer Khokhar has been Youth Pastor of Woodland Lakes Community Church since January of 2011.  Amer grew up in Dodge City, Ks where he attended the Church of the Nazarene. He graduated from Dodge City High School in 1992, from MidAmerica Nazarene university in 1998.  He was ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene in 2001.  Prior to coming to WLCC, Amer has served as youth pastor in Dodge City Ks, Topeka Ks, Vancouver British Columbia, Florissant Mo, and San Jose Ca.

Pastor Amer was called to preach as a Junior in High School and loves to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with teens.  In addition to his work at the church he loves sports, especially football, and is a huge Chicago Bears fan.  Pastor Amer has a beautiful wife, Sunita, and five awesome children: Simrun, Sania, Asher, Abrahn, and Aryan. 

 

 Annie Amstutz

Worship & Creative Arts

Annie has been leading worship at WLCC since August of 2012. While she has been passionate about music and all things creative arts since she was a child, she did not find Jesus until the summer of 2009. Annie is excited to use her love of music and her love of the Lord to lead people into God's presence, and create new and innovative ways to allow God's word to speak throughout the service. Annie has a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology from Pacific Lutheran University and a Masters Degree in Organizational Leadership from Fort Hays State University. Annie has been married to her husband Brad since 2009 and they adopted a son in October of 2015. When not at WLCC, Annie likes to do yoga, cook and bake, and work in her garden.
